Since moving to Iowa six months ago, we have visited 11 out of 70 Iowa state parks. Today, we visited Dolliver Memorial State Park and it's definitely one of my favorites so far. It was a great place for a winter hike today and I can't wait to return and see the park in other seasons.
We hiked 2.2 miles on the Boneyard Trail and River Trail, which were very scenic and perfect for two 5 year olds. There are two sets of open restrooms at the park in the winter. One at the start of the Boneyard Trail, near the North Shelter, and the second at the end of the Boneyard Trail, near the campground. For more information on the park, check out Iowa Parklands' post.
