We attended Tales by the Fire, an animal-themed story time, at
Jester Park Nature Center this morning. During the program, the naturalist talked about animals found in the winter in Iowa. Afterwards, we headed downstairs to check out the displays that represent that the three major habitats at Jester Park.
My kids' favorite areas on the lower level are the tunnels you can crawl through, the puppet show and the turtles. There's a painted turtle named Oscar and a snapping turtle named Cupcake. They also enjoy reading books in the cozy corner behind the puppet show.
