The new Cedar Lake Nature Trail opened in November 2021. The trail includes a raft crossing, which my kids really enjoyed. The only thing we didn't like during our hike was the constant gunfire at the nearby shooting range. Other than that, it was a great hiking experience.
TRAIL: 3.2 mile loop, mix of dirt and grass
SHADE: trail is mostly shady
PARKING: along Lakeside Lane
PICNIC AREAS: several shady picnic tables with great lake views along Lakeside Lane
RESTROOMS: none, but nearby is Cedar Covered Bridge Park with vault restrooms (2 minute drive)
