During our visit to Center Grove Orchard today, my only request to pick apples which my son happily agreed to because needed them for a Trader Joe's caramel apple kit. Center Grove Orchard has a great system for picking apples. First, you chose the size of the bag you want purchase.
- 1/4 peck - $9.95
- 1/2 peck - $11.95
- 1 peck - $19.95
Next, you head to the orchard and look for the sign to see which rows are available to pick. We were told the Jonagold rows were best when we bought our bag, so we headed to rows 68 and 69. It turned out to be a long walk and not one I'd want to do with little kids, but totally fine for a 7 year old.
My son insisted on bringing an apple picker with us, which I didn't think we'd need but it really came in handy and was very easy to use. We quickly filled our 1/2 peck bag and then took the beautiful walking trail back to the farmyard.
