SAYLORVILLE LAKE: Playgrounds at Cherry Glen

When the campground is open at Cherry Glen, it's really crowded and busy, but today was the perfect day to explore the campground and picnic area. There are three playgrounds at Cherry Glen - two in the campground and one in the picnic area.

CAMPGROUND - NORTH PLAYGROUND

Play Structure: Ages 2-12

Surface: rubber chips

Swings: none

Restrooms: seasonal modern

Parking: parking lot at the campground entrance, moderate walk to playground

CAMPGROUND - SOUTH PLAYGROUND

Play Structure: Ages 5-12

Surface: rubber chips

Swings: traditional

Restrooms: seasonal modern

Parking: parking area near the restrooms, short walk to playground

The road to the picnic area is closed in the winter. As we walked the 1/2 mile to the playground, I was thinking the road would be ideal for bikes and scooters when there's no snow and it's closed to cars.
