The Pedestrian Mall in Iowa City (also known as the Ped Mall) is family friendly and has a new playground next to the public library. The area also has many great restaurants. We had a great lunch at Burger Haul, which is one block from the playground. The library has a large children's area and used books for sale on the second floor.
