My son is so happy there's now indoor mini golf in Des Moines. The Fat Putter opened last month and we really enjoyed mini golfing there today. There are 27 holes included in the cost, which are divided into 3 courses.
- AGES: 21+ after 6pm, family friendly during the day
- COST: $18 for ages 13+, $12 for under 13 (cheaper on Mondays)
- FOOD: Pizza can be delivered from Fong's Pizza
- DRINKS: Cocktails, beer, soda (and great drink holders at each hole)
- PARKING: Paid street parking with the ParkDSM app (free parking on Sundays)
I really like the setup because you can start on any of the 3 courses, so we selected the one that had no one else playing on it. It took us approximately one hour today to play 27 holes with 2 adults and 1 kid.
The Fat Putter is located next door to the EMC Downtown Park, which would be fun to combine in nicer weather. For now, you can use their lockers to store your winter coats.
